Thesis
During the 50s and 60s, the African-American community began to fight against segregation and the way they were treated. While Rosa Parks and Dr. King are very important- the impact that black artists had on the music industry was immense- opening up new doors for other black artists to shine through. The black artists of the 1950s and 60s were a huge driving force behind the Civil Rights movement. They changed the way that people saw colored people in respect to their talent, and in turn, the people themselves.
